Small Waterfall

It has been quite some time since I last played with the shutter speeds of my camera. There is this problem playing with shutter speeds. You have to bring a tripod along with you. I like to use slower shutter speed to blur a moving object. And a tripod is needed to ensure a crispy clear shot. I did not have my tripod with me when I snapped this picture. It is a small waterfall or rather a weir dam used to irrigate nearby farmlands. Slower shutter speed blurs the motion of flowing water. It turns out to be one of my favorite pictures even without the use of a tripod!

I love the way the water takes on motion when you slow the shutter speed like you did. You must have good balance to do that w/o a tripod!

I received your comment wanting to exchange links and just added your link to my site. I hope you will do the same! I’m actually very glad you asked because I realized that I hadn’t added my Blogroll back after I changed my template. Now I have to see if I kept a list of the sites I had exchanged links with… yikes!

That is a gorgeous photo. My hubby gave me tripod for Xmas and I’m ashamed to say I’ve not used it yet. I’m not primarily a photographer and trips out usually have another aim as well as taking photos, and a tripod is an awkward thing to have to carry around. I must do it sometime soon but I don’t know if I’d get results as good as this even if I did use the thing.

Wow, the photo is so fanatastic. It is beautiful enough that it can be used as a wallpaper for computer desktop. Kudos for such a professional shot. Thanks for the post. God bless.

I have to train hard shooting photos without the use of a tripod. We can’t possibly bring a tripod along all the time, can we? :)
